Project overview

inTouch is a Prague-based startup behind Mary, an AI companion that calls seniors for daily, warm conversations to fight loneliness and keep their minds active. In 2026, inTouch partnered with HMD Global, the maker of Nokia phones, to put Mary one button away on senior-focused devices, starting with the HMD 2660 Flip Senior Edition. I built the Webflow activation flow that takes a new phone owner from unboxing to talking with Mary in one simple form.

Context & challenges

Someone buying a phone with Mary built in shouldn't have to install an app, remember a password, or wrestle with a complicated form. But behind that simplicity sat real complexity: two different entry points, a family member setting things up for a parent, or a senior signing up for themselves, phone numbers that needed to work correctly across many countries, and a live hand-off to inTouch's backend that had to work flawlessly in both English and French from day one of the pilot.

Approach & process

I worked directly with inTouch's founder, Vassili le Moigne, and the wider team, building the "Myself" and "Someone else" activation forms as one shared structure in Webflow: the same activation-code, interests, terms, and declaration fields, branching only where the two paths genuinely differ.

Rather than leaning on a generic Webflow form, I engineered the details a senior audience actually needed. Name fields had to accept real human variation, so validation only required two genuine characters instead of a rigid pattern, and email validation caught typos without being overly strict. Phone numbers needed to work for landlines and mobiles across dozens of countries, so I integrated an international phone input with automatic country detection, formatting, and length checks, then worked through its dropdown behavior inside Webflow's modal setup so nothing broke visually.

On submission, the form talks directly to inTouch's backend, turning a successful registration, an already-used code, or an error into three clear outcomes, each with its own confirmation page in the visitor's own language. That last part caught a real bug along the way: an early version sent French visitors to an English success screen, which I fixed by tying the redirect to the visitor's actual language instead of a hardcoded default.

Alongside the build, I also acted on product feedback straight from the founder, swapping generic example names and interests for ones that actually reflect the people signing up (gardening, TV shows, or a grandson's name, rather than "sport"), and making the page easier to navigate for someone without a mouse to hover with.

Key features & highlights

  • Two parallel activation paths, "Myself" and "Someone else," sharing one Webflow form structure
  • International phone input with automatic country detection, formatting, and validation
  • Custom name and email validation tuned for a senior, non-technical audience
  • Direct integration with inTouch's registration backend, handling success, used, and error states
  • Language-aware redirects so English and French visitors always land on the right confirmation page
  • Senior-first refinements: friendlier example copy, clearer interest prompts, easier-to-see scroll cues
